My Protocol


Depending on the specifics outlined in our initial meeting, as part of my regular routine, I will typically guarantee to do the following:

  • Dust furniture and décor items
  • Vacuum all floors
  • Wash kitchen surfaces and wipe appliances (including microwave); wipe oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher faces; polish stainless steel; dust countertop items; vacuum and mop floor. (Dishes are not included in estimate and are generally assumed by household; cabinet faces [including glass doors] may be filtered in periodically for extra fee but are not included overall on a regular basis.)
  • Sanitize bathroom surfaces, shower, tub (if applicable), and toilet; dust décor items and miscellaneous bathroom items; vacuum/mop floor
  • Furniture is vacuumed (or "polished," i.e. leather) by request only and carries a nominal fee
  • Linens are changed/laundered and pressed only upon request and carry an extra fee.

As part of my detail routine, I will periodically:

  • Eliminate cobwebs
  • Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures (generally and within reach)
  • Maintain baseboards
  • Dust window sills and blinds/shutters (generally)
  • Dust picture frames

Unless otherwise agreed upon, the following are not areas or activities that I offer as a standard and are not inclusive of my fees, as they carry outside of my service description entirely and/or represent liability that I can not assume.

  • Washing walls, dishes, patio doors, windows
  • Cleaning french windows or doors (including cabinet/hutch faces)
  • Dusting or cleaning inside cabinets (including curios/hutches)
  • Cleaning inside oven, refrigerator, washer, dryer, or toaster oven 
  • Fireplaces, attached fireplace screens or glass enclosures (hearth is vacuumed)
  • Cleaning heavily-cluttered / littered / congested / unkempt areas
  • Vacuuming furniture/drapes
  • Moving (heavy) furniture
  • Silver polishing
  • Litter boxes / pet cages
  • Handling of delicate / fragile / costly / heirloom valuables
  • Garage or outdoor work of any kind
  • Watering or dusting plants / any plant care
  • Laundry
  • The use of Bona gloss (not standard Bona hardwood floor cleaner) or any floor polish carries an extra fee per time consumption
